Micro-rings for hair extensions

Threaded micro-rings

Threaded micro-rings have a profiled inner surface. The thread increases the ring’s grip and helps to hold the strand securely once it has been tightened correctly.

The threaded version does not have a silicone lining. During application, it is particularly important to select the correct amount of natural hair and the appropriate clamping force to ensure the bond is secure without causing excessive pressure.

Microrings with silicone or with a thread?

The choice should depend on the structure and thickness of the natural hair, the type of hair strands and the technique used by the stylist.

Silicone micro-rings are worth considering if you want an extra layer between the metal and your natural hair. Threaded micro-rings may be chosen for their contoured surface and secure hold.

What type of hair are micro-rings used on?

How are microrings fitted?

2. The selected strand is pulled through the micro-ring using a crochet hook or loop.
3. The end of the hair extension is inserted into the micro-ring.
4. The ring is positioned at the correct distance from the scalp.
5. The connection is secured using special pliers.
6. After installation, the stability and comfort of each strand are checked.

The rings should not be placed directly against the skin. Natural hair must be able to move freely without excessive tension.

What accessories are needed?

Microrings are larger than nanorings and are used with a different type of hair strand tip. Nanorings are chosen when an even finer and less visible connection is required.
